Two books are dedicated to adults for self-teaching the Hebrew language, without the necessity of a teacher for guidance.
It is useful for distinctive levels; every student chooses exercises appropriate for his level of Hebrew understanding.
The style of the book bases itself on the series “Sharsheret Hasafa”, and for that reason the exercises are from the world of the child but it goes without saying that the style of learning is also for an advanced age, inclusively an adult who is learning has to progress gradually like a child step by step.
It includes basic grammar rules and a basic Hebrew vocabulary.
Its structure includes phonetics and translation into Spanish, for self-teaching.
Content:
This line is one of a kind for self-teaching. The books are designed to teach and promote the rules of the language to adults who do not speak Hebrew, through different techniques and exercises which make the learning of the language easier.
The special value of the books lies in the fact that they are translated in all its extension into two types: a. Translation of each word into Spanish. b. A phonetic translation shows the pronunciation of the Hebrew word. Thanks to that unique characteristic anybody can study the book on his/her own, without any necessity of an outside teacher or other person to help learn the process.
The idea of producing these books came after “Sharsheret Hasafa” for children was published, noticing the lack in the world of books for adults and young people to impart the Hebrew language in an easy and clear way, especially for the ones who have no previous knowledge. At the root of this the material of “Sharsheret Hasafa” it was decided to create books for self-teaching for the ones who want to learn and progress on their own in the Hebrew language. To get the maximum profit out of the books, the subjects were divided, organized one by one, from the basic to the complex. Before each subject there is a short resume about its rules accompanied by worksheets so that the student will remember the material. The books are suitable for everybody on the level they are. From total lack of knowledge of the language till effective reading and simple sentences. For that reason, not all the material is on the same level, and everybody chooses the appropriate exercises according to his level of understanding the language.
It must be pointed out that the exercises and themes are mainly taken from the world of the child as they were taken from the books “Sharsheret Hasafa”. But it goes without saying that the way of teaching is also adequate for more advanced ages, as inclusive an adult who is learning a new language needs to progress step by step like a child who starts to talk…
Inside the book:
- The structure of the language (grammar): the main part of the book deals with different grammar subjects which are the base of the language: masculine- feminine,singular-plural,adjectives, linking words, roots,conjugations of verbs and more. With the help of exercises the student gets complete and exhaustive grammar rules of the Hebrew language, in a way which helps him to construct sentences and use the learned vocabulary correctly. The exercises develop gradually each theme being connected to the one before and like this increases the level of learning.
- Vocabulary: At the end of each volume study exercises appear and the memorization of the vocabulary in different categories: stationary, transport, trades, fruits, vegetables and more. The vocabulary proposes a base to talk and write together with the grammar rules learned in the first part of each volume. After finishing the textbook, the student will be familiarized with basic grammar rules and a basic vocabulary acquirered in the language and he will be able to talk and compose sentences in a basic Hebrew.
